intake question
a friend and i just installed a sportek intake from rapid parts on his '03 1.8t. the install went painlessly and the car ran fine. however he told me that after he drove the car for about 10 min after the car had sat for about an hour he opened the hood and noticed the turbo and exhaust flange were not just red. but extremely glowing. now i know that turbos get hot, and i know they have the tendency to glow but from what he said this was nothing he'd ever seen before. so he asked me to post this for him in hopes that soneone would have a suggestion as to what to do to resolve this. i told him to disconnect the battery to recalibrate the mass air meter, but im not sure if he did that yet. so any insight would be appreciated. BTW the 10 min he drove were not hard driving, just normal city driving with an occasional 4k burst.
