Interior lighting

Has anyone figured out how to change the interior lights in the car to the xenon-like style? I was in a new 7-series bimmer last night, and the lighting was much cooler, i think i'd like to give this a shot. did a brief search but sketchy results. thanks

i would guess difrn't bulbs in BMW-maybe specific and not available for other applications.

You can buy white LEDs that are designed to be drop-ins for interior lights (more)

That may be what the 7-series you saw used for a more "Xenon-like"/white illumination. evolutionsports.com lists them in the lighting section I believe (the super LED wedge bulbs by PIAA) and some small in-my-garage type company was selling home-made LED interior bulbs for VWs specifically (which I'm sure would work in our cars too).

Do you just mean making the map lights & etc. a more bluish tint?

If so, there are companies that sell bulbs like that. I remember one company selling xenon-like interior lighting blubs for the 3-series cars. I'm sure they make blubs that fit Audis too. If I can remember the name of the place, I'll post it.
