It's cold ....
Advice:
Don't ignore the fact that your ECON light won't go off
Don't "eventually" get it recharged
Don't ignore (for 2 years) that the AC never really got the car cold even after the recharge
Don't be tempted to pay Dealership price on anything (the only advice I took !! )
Appears that there was a seal gone on the pipe between the Compressor & Condensor - this is where the Gas leaked from. No Gas means No AC but more importantly it also means No oil to lube the compressor. No lube means the compressor eventually seizes and breaks that plastic thingy in the pulley. This on a weak battery will stop the car turning over - leading you to think engine has gone bang.
However, new compressor, drier, seal & recharge and its as cold as ice in the car. Now why didn't I get it fixed before the summer???
Anyway - I'm back in love the car again and shall continue to lurk and post here randomly ;~)
