Default Just picked up my avant today

Just picked up a black on black avant this morning. I have a couple of questions I forgot to ask the dealer, maybe you guys can help.

When is the first service and how often are they after that?

What is the best roof rack to get for the car, for my bike and snowboard.

Thanks.

Default Congrats!! Another one joins the Collective.

I got my BB 1.8T Avant in April.

First service is scheduled at 10k miles. Not sure I'm going to wait that long, but I think Audi Advantage will only cover the 10k service. Check the service/maintenance manual that came along with the car manual.

Sorry, not much help on the roof rack question.

Enjoy!

Default i've done the research and...

i found out Yakima seems to get the best reviews versus Thule. if you go to www.yakima.com, you can choose your year/make/model of you car and they have this really helpful step by step process to show you what fits on your car rack and what accessories are available to you. i've looked on ebay and several classifieds and still cannot find a used rack that would fit the a4 avant. the rack costs over $350 brand new, that includes a set of Lowriders (the pieces that connect to your roof-rails), the 48" crossbars, bike trays and locking devices. pretty steep, eh? let me know if you find better.

Default not bad...

although it has developed an annoying squeek that I am trying to isolate! I think it is coming from the rear suspension area. Glad you decided to keep yours...it's really a great bike!

Default Yeah I just got that squeak too - not sure what it is. That screw came out on me again yesterday : (

I'm having my LBS put it back in with a little loctite this time. Hopefully that will take care of it.

At least it hasn't broken yet : ) I see these people riding $2k+ Ellsworths that break, and not to mention all the Cannondales.

Will do - maybe it's just the shock getting a little dry-who knows.
