K line questions

K line questions
I just got my new Audi a4 1.8t quatro, and want to upgrade the stereo, but heard about this "K line". exactly what is it, and if i upgrade the stereo will they still be able to diagnose problems in the car? will upgrading my stereo effect the warranty.
