Default Latest lament: Torque Converter Clutch Circuit failed at 54,000 miles ($2,600+ fix)

Oh dear 2003 Audi 3.0 Quattro in beautiful dolphin gray, why doth thou hate me so much; I took such good care of you. Seemingly innocent solid check engine light, followed by four weeks of waiting for appointment at the dealer, let me to inappropriately hope for an inexpensive outcome. Today I received the dreaded call, you betrayed me, and it will take $2,600 to fix. That amount could feed families in some foreign countries for years, but instead it will only be a tribute to your betrayal.

... Yes, the above is overly dramatic. I'm just trying to make light of the situation. No, I didn't buy an extended warranty, but obviously should have.

Did you find out what the fault code was when the ECU was scanned? Just curious.
