Default leasing in socal

the lease on my current car expires end of october. i have been looking at the A4 1.8 for some time now. a few weeks ago, i saw ads listed in the LA Times, 2002 model 1.8's for 300 per month with 2k down. this is the type of deal i am looking for in terms of keeping my monthly payment around 300. also not looking to put too much $ down on it.

is it still possible to get a deal similar to this? seeing that the 2003 models will be out, could i get a deal on a 2002 still on the lot? any recomendations on dealerships in LA that would be good to work with?

thanks.

Robert Hayes at Commonwealth in Santa Ana if you need model advice and test drives.

Drew Polenchar at Commonwealth if you already know what car you want ( he's internet fleet manager ).

Manfred at Rusnak Pasadena

Larry Strong at Pacific Audi.

Those kinds of deals are often based on a very basic car. Not many of them around - so you'll need to move quickly if the factory incentive is still in effect for SoCal. Any of the folks above can tell you if you if the deal is still running, and if they have such a car.

well, all i want is the sunroof and premium package. i work in pasadena, so rusnak is a quick drive from my office. the main thing i am concerned is getting stung with any type of hidden fees while calculating my out of pocket down payment.

Default Every person I listed, is a straight player.

Manfred is very soft spoken earnest, and easy going. No slick sales crap.

Default how stringent is Audi in approving credit?

I have clean credit, 700+ level. I make approx. 40K per year, so I am not sure if they will look at me as not having a high enough salary to afford to lease an A4.

Credit rating sounds good. So long as payment does not exceed 25/30% of monthly paycheque.

Default It's not your income that matters

it's your debt ratio. You should do yourself a favor and buy a current copy of your FICO score so you'll know where you stand. During my recent Saab lease I whipped out my score printout and it speeded up the process. YMMV.

There are so many Audi dealers in the LA area you really owe it to yourself to spend some time and shop around. Shop on weekends, buy during the week with someone you found that you like. Just be sure to set aside enough time for all the silliness that has to occur to buy a car. 5 hours min., more is better. If you're rushed you're screwed. Take a sick day from work and take your time.
