moral dilemma:
so my uncle has a chrome yellow 98 mustang cobra with 30k miles. i haven't seen it in a couple years, but it should be more or less mint. he's thinking of selling it.
after a little rough math, i could sell my A4, pay off my loan, and buy my uncle's car straight up (might need to borrow 3-4K tops).
pros:
NO CAR PAYMENT
fast
cheap mods
cheap replacement parts
reasonably reliable
easy to work on
cons:
it's a Ford
it's a 2 door
it's a Ford?
whaddaya think? i don't have a problem affording my A4. the problem is that i want to mod it, and i can't afford to mod it the way i want AND save as much as i want at the same time. i really can only afford to do one or the other...so i've been going back and forth...save a little, get a mod. with this cobra, i have no car payment, and can afford to save money and mod the car both.

Dude, it's a Ford.
What is life but enjoying the simple pleasures in life while indulging in more complex ones?
The simple pleasure here being driving the A4 vs. the Ford. the complex being modding the Cobra and knowing that you are, in fact, driving a lesser car with more hp.
The question you need to ask is this: Will a faster car make me happy? Or would a reasonably fast, excellently made, sublimely elegant ride be more important to me? Those are questions you need to ask yourself.

Yes, however...
What is the note to you in the grand scheme of things financially? you may not have a note, but you will have mods. 5k a year in mods would be 416 bucks a month. so you may not have a car payment, but you will be spending money regardless.

Spending money on a Ford, on Mustang...last time I checked Audi didn't have shut down the...
production line because cars weren't meeting QA levels, Ford did with the Mustang line in November.

Cobras are fast, keep value very well, but IS A FORD...I agree with Big D...(m)
You have to pay these days for nice things and things WORTH quality. Not that the Cobra isn't a nice car, but it's no A4. I would keep the A4! But I also live in a state where every white trash person, teenager, etc. drives 5.0s, Mustangs, imitation Cobras, etc. Money or happiness?? And yes, we will laugh at you!
