More questions about Neuspeed Short Shifter problems...

I have a 2003 1.8 and installed the shifter about 2-3 weeks ago. Couple of days ago it started to get really sloppy. I went in and re-greased and tightened everything. That didn't work. I am having a lot of play in the shifter, both right and left and up and down. Even while in gear. I ran out of things to check and try. How much play should there be? Is there something that could be wrong with the shift mech. already? PLEASE HELP!

I have no idea. Mine works perfectly.

Sounds like the ball enclosure is out of spec.

Mine works nicely also, very notchy when cold, and a little notchy once warm...

but no symptoms of what you talk about. I would tear it apart again and make sure everything is tight. Sounds like the two hex bolts are a little loose.
