Did it get wet or something ? The battery might be dead, used to happen all the time with my GTI. Just go to the dealer and they will replace it, no questions asked.

I've actually gone swimming with mine a few occasions, and as long as your still under the 4 year guarantee, they'll replace them. You might get a few funny looks...

1) either batteries are dead...highly unlikely

or

2) you pressed the lock/unlock buttons way too many times either a combination of the two key fobs or from a larger distance than what the alarm system can recognize.

you can reset it yourself according to the manual, or take it to the dealer for a quick fix up...some special combination of resetting method that is not mentioned in the book. good luck.

I had the same problem. Check and see if your spare remote works. Either way its going to be a trip to the dealer to reprogramme the remote. No idea what the problem was but it is annoying that the dealer needed the car for the day!
