kicks in. It's done it twice in the last month. I eventually was able to fill up but only after rocking the car and dribbling gas into the tank.
It's as if there is a vapour lock in the fill tube. I hear a gurgling sound and the gas sitting in the fill pipe bubbles and recedes slowly down the pipe. I know I read something about a carbon canister and a system that recirculates gas vapors into the engine for pollution control.Someone had said it can get blocked or something.
Any thoughts or solutions?

I had this happen once, dealer suggested I try a different gas station. I have not had any problems since then.

I see you had it down to the Leak Detection Pump LDP Audi even has a Tech bulletin on it but I couldn't find and resolution to your problem.

I determined it was the carbon canister. It's fairly easy to check it out and told the dealer to change it before they changed the tank. It was the carbon canister!
