Hey guys,

Have you seen the article on the frontpage? Does anyone have more info on arrival dates of this "new" 190HP 1.8T A4 engine in Canada/USA? (assuming it'll even get to N. Am.).

Default no, but when the car hits the dealers, I'm gonna order second IC. Shouldn't cost more than 250$ (.)
+ some piping. I think that the total cost of this upgrade will be aroud 350$, which is GREAT NEWS.

The 2nd IC+piping can't be the only difference between the 2 engines, can it? I don't know too much about engines, but here must be some kind of tuning to (e.g. to the ECU) to maintain low-end torque after addition of the 2nd IC, no?

Default Reason I'm asking...
The reason I'm asking this question is that we have an '03 1.8T Q Avant on order as of a couple of weeks ago (should arrive by January), but if the 190HP one will be here "soon", we're willing to wait and were going to cancel our current order and place an order for the 190HP one... is it worth it? :O)

The 190HP engine has a 6-spd. tranny tho....

Default IF it comes, it would be an '04. Special option in Europe, not
standard issue. We are more likely to see the '05 Passat 2.0t 200hp in '04 or '05. Already slated for North American availability for VW.

Ooo... now THERE is a plus... but I don't think my sister's getting a manual because she's always stuck in rush-hour traffic going to/from work...
