New (B6) A4 1.8T vs Used (B5) S4?

If your interested in Handeling get a B6 with the sport package, it runs circles around the S4 in
that department. With the S4 you get better brakes, alot faster, a 6spd, More luxury. If your gonna lease it your better off getting the new A4.

I currently own both... here are my thoughts
I can honestly say a couple of things about the differences... Both cars are awesome.
The S4 is a great car. From the moment I picked it up I had a grin ear to ear. The appointments are wonderful... the fit and finish are good... and the car is surperbly powerful. Every time you hit the gas it is simply amazing. The handling is also excellent and the braking as well. All in all it is a superb car... but the differences should be noted.
The B6 (I have a 1.8t Quattro Sport Premium 5sp) is a phenominal automobile. The fit and finish is impeccable and I can already tell the materials are more durable than the S4 (my S4 has 70k on it and it is beginning to show wear and tear... not what I expected from this car this early). The acceleration from the 1.8t is passable. Nothing like the S4... but if you don't care about that (something I am getting used to) then I would say the Value lies in the A4. I was also at an autocross this past weekend and watched a B5 S4 and a spanking new A4 1.8tq do the cones... the dynamics of the B6 body wayyyyy surpassed the B5 (S4)... And the times were lower.. these cars were both bone stock.
That is what I think. The differences are subtle but important. If you are not speed crazy, the A4 will fit you perfectly. The design does grow on you... in fact... alot. I think my 1.8t is significantly better looking than the S4... but opinions are like A.. holes... everyone has one.
Good luck in your decision...
