It will flicker while underway or at idle. The posts I read said to check the socket for looseness - which I'll do. But, could it be the bulb itself? How does a xenon bulb die? Does it just go poof! - or does it slowly fade away, or does it work erratically near the end?

Default With high on time in hours, HIDs get dimmer and the color temp in deg kelvin increases..m

The normal useful on time is > 2000 hours before the output decreases to 75 percent of the new lamp value in lumens. Sounds like you have a loose connection, or a flakey ballast. Try swapping the lamps or the ballast to see if the problem travels with what component.

Colour temperature (ie, the K value) decreases over time, ie become yellower, just to clarify.

Default Xenons do become more blue over time, so the K value actually increases slightly.

This is why phillips or sylvania actually sells a 5200k HID bulb for cars with xenons, so that the new bulb will match color wise, an older 4500k bulb. But in all honesty, this is just what i read, and I do not know this to be fact for certain.

I guess I could understand that thinking a bit more, but I haven't myself seen the difference either

Default I think its purely mechanical.

the whole housing is wobbling. Mine does it too. Take stiffer springs and shocks, and one snubber to vibrate the hell out of the front end, and top it off with headlights that aren't very solidly mounted and are on a long virtual lever arm. Bake for 30 minutes and get the shakes. I've checked this out pretty extensively. I got it to reduce by remounting the headlight, and modified my snubber just a touch so that it would'nt be so tight, and its all but gone away (except on goodly bumps)
