Oxygen sensor question
My question is, what kind of signs will you see if your oxygen sensor is going bad or has gone bad? I have 99 A4 1.8T. My car has 96k on it and the oxygen sensor has never been changed.

this is the b6 forum, you have a b5, but anyway...
with a damaged o2 sensor, the car will usually have a very rough idle when in drive, and will dip lower and soar higher in rpms than normal. In addition, the car may surge or stall while accelerating, especially out of first
basically, when the o2 sensor fails, the car can no longer detect the correct air/fuel ratio, and guesses, most of the time incorrectly, which causes it to stall or surge.
