Default part number for the mesh pre-filter in the intake?

I've cleaned mine out numerous times, and must have forgotten to put it back in the car once. The dealer swears that it's not a standard NA part and that it only comes in cars that are in cold weather countries, but I know I've cleaned it.
Here's what the service guy sent me:
"Ryan,
Upon closer examination of the air filter screen, turns out this is not standard equipment on US spec cars. There is a mesh screen in the air intake system but it is only for vehicles used in "cold countries" (part#: 8e0129054). It costs $10.50, but it's not needed."

Is this the right part #? TIA

Default Really? NevAr heard that before

I clean mine about monthly if I remember. That thing catches a lot of debris.

I took mine out, I got sick of cleaning it. It's sitting in my room now.

Default Sounds like BS from the Dealer.................

I am in South Florida. Mine collects a lot of dust, grit, etc. from all the gravel trucks moving dirt from place to place. What would a fine mesh screen have to do with cold weather? For me it catches the larger particles and protects the air filter. It is there for a reason and in my opinion you need it.

It just snaps in and out. Only fits in one way.
