I searched on this forum, but all I come up with is "hard wire your Passport into the fuse box." But what exactly does that mean? I was told taht I could use a phone cable (as long as it was the 2-line type), cut off the end of it, and wire it into the fuses. But what exactly do I wire it to? Do I just pick a fuse? What do I do from there?

do you have the premium option pack? just tap the wire to the fuse for the homelink (turns off with ignition) and ground the black wire to 1 of the bolts.
