Petition for Egine mod of 1.8 A4
I just bought the new A4 1.8T. I love everything about the car but the fact that the same engine can produce (with Audi factory models) between 180-225 HP.
I suggest a petition to request a new engine program to give us at least the 180 HP that they provide on A3 or Golf/Jetta (or let us chip it ourselves). This could easily be done through a dealer regular maintenance. I believe that 170 on new A4 is more of a marketing to sell 3.0s. The dealership told me that since on the previous A4s, 2.8 and 1.8 were too close to each other they had to increase the V6 power and let the 1.8 remain at 170. I believe that we have been cheated by Audi, and we should all do something about it. The new 1.8 has a better Exhaust than previous generation and can easily be pushed (without reliability issues) to 185-190 HP.
I am not too sure how realistic I am at this time, but definitely pissed off.
What do you guys think? Does anybody want to write a petition online and see how does it go?

What I mean is not an improvement for later models. A new engine program to make the current ones reach 180HP or more.

That's exaclty what I am asking for. I don't beleive that the A3 engine parts are superior to A4, so why are we getting 170 remains a question and it's all marketing.

I remember
that there was something about the engine positions in the Golf/GTI/Jetta/A3 that changes the exhaust setup which in turn increases the HP. I don't believe it is a marketing ploy..
