Default Question for the 6MT owners. First and reverse issue.

On two separate occasions, in reverse the transmission would engage first. This happened again today. I was in a clear area and took the car to about 15MPH and then disengaged first/reverse. It was clearly pushed down.

I have a few ideas, and I'll be taking the car to the dealer asap. Curious to know if anyone else has had this issue and if the dealer confirmed the cause.

Default nope, however

i'll admit that first and reverse are very close together. in fact, a lot of the time i won't even click down when going to reverse, there's kind of a gray area that you get used to. also, when moving forward at slow speeds, i have to come to a COMPLETE stop to shift into reverse, which is a pain in the a$$, but whatever, otherwise I love my car.

Default I did make the point of checking

the shift lever position. It was pushed down, to the left of first and "engaged".
