Default Question about the Boosted CAI ....

I spoke to some tech and they told me that the stock intake that we have is the most optimal intake because it is directly ported to the grille, where it can absorb fresh air .. how does the Boosted CAI work when it is absorbing air from the engine compartment that is obviously hotter?

I am trying to see is it is worth purchasing the Boosted CAI ... I need some explanations guys .. hELP

Default It doesn't. It sucks from the lower front bumper area....

The Evo intake is in the engine compartment which is hot air.

Wouldn't you want to remove/open up the pass. side fog light grille for that to really work?

Default Take a look @ my posts a few down about my boosted Cai.....

It is definitely worth it, it draws in cold air from down below.

Tsle, yeah I was thinking the same thing about opening up the grill on the pass side. I remember seeing a picture of one that is open like the left, the person had a second side mount intercooler. Anyone know where you can get the open fog light grill for the pass side?

I believe that you can order the euro version of that grille which is open like the driver side

Or use a dremel to cut openings between the horizontal "fins" and sand down any rough edges
