A question about wheel alignment
Should centering the steering wheel be part of a typical wheel alignment service? Or is it only aligning the actual wheels ?
I have just taken my car for a wheel alignment but the steering wheel is still slightly off center (i.e. car goes straight while the steering is slightly turned to the right). How would they adjust it back to center?

Yes, it is considered part of a complete alignment job. ...
The centering is obtained by adjusting the tie rods to provide for a centered steering wheel, with the toe setting adjusted to spec.

Yes, if the tie rod ends are moved, the toe setting will be changed,...
the SW can be centered by turning one tie rod end "in" 1/4 turn, while the opposite side is turned "out" 1/4 turn. Which one to turn in/out depends on the direction the SW is off.
I don't recommend you try this, it is only properly set on the alignment rack. It would be easy to botch the alignment job altogether.

I went back 3 times and they couldn't fix it so I got a refund...
but I've been too lazy to bring it somewhere else. Now I'm at the point with my car where I probably will just leave it how it is.

there's a certain freedom in not caring too much about your car
that does suck though seems like no one can actually work on cars correctly anymore.
