Quick question on offset . . .

I have a 2006 A3 with OEM wheels (see below) that a friend wants to put on his 2003 A4 Avant. They are -- 17x7.5 (5x112) et 56. Will they fit ok? Thanks.

I have a feeling not. Our offset is like 43-45. 56 might be too far in...

If he liek that style they put them on the B7 A4 in the correct offset for our cars

with 15 or 20mm spacers yes.

Definitely need the spacers. Shouldn't be a problem at all...

with the wheels being pushed in that far (56mm offset). He'd be able to get thick enough spacers to be hub centric.

When I was looking into getting spacers for my stock wheels I learned a lot. I think the widest you should go on a B6 is like a 30mm offset in the rear and 35mm in the front to be safe(correct me if I'm wrong). With a 56mm offset wheel, he would be looking at 25mm for rear and 20mm for front to get the above offset values. That would give the car a nice wide look. He should also make sure that the spacers are hub centric to avoid vibration issues.
