Default Really annoying squeak from rear seat

My car (25,000 miles) has developed this really abnoxious squeak from the pass. side rear seat area. I don't think it's from the seatback latch, as I lubed it all up as others have done, and it's still there. It actually sounds like it's coming from under the backseat somewhere. I went back there and pushed and prodded everything and I can't get it to do it. Anyone have a similar experience? Thanks.

Dumb question, but is the seat closed all the way and locked?

Default Try stuffing the red straw from the lubricant can into the seat back at the outboard hinge...

The pivoting part of the hinge is inside the seat, and that is the only way to get to it. Mine was miking the same noise you described and the dealer could not fix it on two attempts. I lubed the hinge and within a week the lube had found the spot it need to go to and I havn't heard from it since (about 20K ago). Good luck!

Default Re: good-luck

Exactly...I don't even want to bother with the dealer because I am sure they will just push and prod the back seat and then say they can't duplicate it. I had a loud wind noise and water leak they swore they couldn't find...had to fix it myself. My sunroof also rattles like crazy and they say it doesn't.

Default I know what it is...

i had the same noise from the same side on the rear seat. they lubed it the first time, but that didn't help. turned out that the rear striker, which is basically the latch where the seat locks into place is, i believe, was bad. they replaced it and i haven't had any problems since.
