Second Coil Failure - (CPM: Survey Response Included)
Had a second coil failure on my wife's 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro Tiptonic. The first failure happened back in mid-December, the No. 1 cylinder. This time it was cylinder No. 3. Wife called Audi Roadside, car was flat-bedded to the dealer late in the afternoon and repaired by late evening but too close to closing time to be able to pick it up. Will get the car tomorrow.
In addition to the wife's A4 (two coil failures) I have another 2002 A4 1.8T Q / Auto with about 4000 mi. No coil problems yet - wait for it.

I tried to get Service Manager to agree to replace all remaining unserviced coils per Audi's latest service notice. Manager said that coils are still in short supply and that they do not have enough to apply a complete replacement. The story he gave me was that a large shippment of coils are expected and when received state-side Audi will notify owners of that all coils will be replaced - (sounds like "the check's in the mail")

Got it ... Logged it ... Thanks Aulust! It's been suggested that I at least continue to collect the
surveys, at least until the recall talk turns into action. There are still some skeptics among us.
