Default Shaky Steering Wheel

I noticed when I'm driving my brand new 2002 A4 at 60mph that the steering wheel shakes a little bit (this is more noticeable when driving on asphalt). Is this normal or am I being too critical? Also the steering wheel is slightly off center by 2-5 degrees. Alignment does not appear to be off (car does not veer off). Don't know if the off centered steering wheel is contributing to the problem. Should I bring the car to the dealer? Any input would be appreciated.

Yes,

I would take it back to the dealer. You should not have any shakes on a new car.

Definitely take it back to dealer. I had the same problem with two previous cars. One needed wheel balancing when some leads came off after hitting a speed bump at 50mph. The other needed steering aligment.

Default Most of the time when you get a vibration ... (more)

... @ a certain speed, it's a wheel balancing issue. If the vibration goes away, and consistently returns @ the same speed, it's most likely a wheel balance issue.

However, I'd certainly take it back to the dealer for an official inspection!

My new A4 has been shaky from the rear since day one. Audi says it is normal for the A4 to vibrate the seats back and forth.
