Default Snub Mount?

Hey all,
Sorry for my stupidity, bit I was wondering what a snub mount does exactly. And how does it benefit our cars to change the stock one?
One last thing, does it make a diff. if you have a manual or auto?

Default late night answers....

The snub goes between the front of your engine and the frame of the car. It's flexible to allow the engine to move (need to be this way by design). The upgraded snub mount allows less engine movement. Less engine movement means less energy wasted and more power to the drivetrain, thus more power to wheels and at a faster rate.

It's most effective on a car with a manual tranny because you get a lot of engine bucking when you shift. With an auto you don't have that much of a problem due to the smooth shift points the car picks. You can do the mod on an Auto but you won't see as much of an improvement. The 3.0 install is complicated because you have to take off the front bumper and radiator brackets to get to the snub. The 1.8T install is quick because you just have to get under the car to access the snub mount.

Default Based on your response, is there any benefit at all to a snub mount with a CVT?

Since it doesn't really shift....

Correct...the benefits for CVT would be hardly noticable if at all.
