Does anyone know any race tracks in so cal, that we can just go and drive our cars on it. Like a public track that we pay to drive on? I heard some rumors about some off the 15 or the 215, but can't seem to find any. I'm not looking for a drag strip but an actually track with turns etc.

Hmm, they hold Autocross races at the Q in San Diego regularly.

You won't get a good idea of what the car can do, if you aren't up to snuff either ;-) ( apologies if you have attended some instruction )

Next school is held in Sept at the Streets of Willow Springs ( near Lancaster ) which is a tight and twisty track. You spend 2 days rotating through class, skidpad, and track several times a day. ONLY $170 for 2 days and lots of track time. We see Audis and VWs there quite often, and sometimes the guest instructor's are VAG car owners too.

Once you run at least one school or already have an SCCA lic, you can go to time trials with the club. Since they've been doing for so long, they are well organized, and inexpensive. They time trial 6 to 8 times a year at places like Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, Fontana, Las Vegas speedway, and Laguna Seca.<ul><li><a href="http://www.arosc.org">http://www.arosc.org</a</li></ul>
