Default Thanks for the feedback...

I know it's a different animal than the A4, but for me the differences are small enough not to detract from the total package (which is a great bargain, imo).

I also should note that my lease is coming up and I won't be able to afford another Audi so I'm looking at next-best-options... :&gt

Default Thanks for the good info, Joe...

I was particularly interested in which iteration of the 1.8T the Passat has. Since it's the same as the B6 A4, does that mean it has the returnless fuel system? Do you think there will be much aftermarket support for this particular config (4motion/5spd), since there will be a relatively small number of cars sold?

Yep. There's definitely no shortage of bells and whistles...

Default I say nice car Shaun, just that they are getting a little old...

The new passat can't be that far off. the current one is only a little newer than the B5 A4.
Granted in 1.8T 4motion guise, it is a new Passat model.

I guess your situation, is rather limited in the time line department though.

Sorry I don't have more to offer right now.

The suspension is "ho-hum" (not as fun) and the interior is a smal step down from the A4.

Maybe its because quattro just sounds cooler...

Default Yup - same ULEV engine and fuel system......

as for aftermarket parts - should'nt be an issue, as this Passat been around for a while in Europe, just not in the US.

Default Agreed. However...

The stock suspension won't last long. Springs and shocks are first on my list of must-do's.

As for the interior, granted it's not the A4, but I can live with this...
