So who is planning on supercharging their 3.0? 300+ hp with similar gains in torque is
quite tempting. Only thing is that it's probably going to be about 4k. Eaton/PES seems very reliable though, and the whole kit is bolt-on and can be taken off and re-sold when you decide to sell the car. Hmmm along with a break and exhaust upgrade, it would really make this car perfect...anyone else with similar dirty thoughts about this topic?

Engine wear and mileage is going to be slightly increased just b/c you'll be running the car harder
b/c you can't resist with all that power. If you drove it normally, gas mileage will decrease slightly, but not too much. You might lose like 2 mpg overall. warranty on engine problems will likely be void, if the problem was a direct result of the supercharger. However, there seems to be no reliability issues with PES tuned 2.8s in the past. they (eaton/pes) do superchargers for OEM manufacturers...Mercedes benz Kompressors, Jaguar, Aston Martin...very reliable and durable...also, if you have any doubts, it's all bolt on and you can take it off b4 sending it in for problems....

Not sure, but probably either in development or done...probably won't see much benefits with an
exhaust alone on a 3.0. But if you supercharge your car, a modified exhaust system is really beneficial.

Good call! I would definitely be in on a group buy a few months or so from now. PES is looking at a
summer 2002 launch for the 3.0 supercharger. the past 2.8 kit was about 4k, it is now discounted to 3K, includes the SC kit and GIAC chip to manage the new found power...check out thier site for more info.

http://www.pes-tuning.com</a

It is on the horizon for me. Big Reds go on next week(if fitment allows). Sticking with the stock
exhaust as my exhaust specialist friend says the stocker is ideal for making low end torque and should be good to plumb sub 350HP based on aggregate piping diameter. I kind of like the non-rice quietness of it. I'm hoping with the stock exhaust that the Eaton will kick down the torque curve to about a 2 K starting point on the tach with a mild deceleration. Stock dampers need to go with that kind of power even though they are a perfect blend of comfort/handling with the Sport Package.
