Sorry to bother you but I have some questions
I am looking at a 3.0 6speed quattro. I know that most of this info is somewhere on these boards, but the thread list is huge. I have looked and found out some info, but I do have some questions.
1. What is a reasonable price? The car stickers for 37,500. From what the dealer tells me this car is rare. So to me this means sticker price not invoice. Anyone with any experience?
2. The dealer tells me that the car is satellite radio ready. Is it cheaper or better to have a place like best buy do the install?
3. I have seen some threads on a chip for added power. Do these produce a noticeable difference in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? Are there any easy mods that would make the car as quick as a 330 or a G35?
Thanks for answering a newbies questions!

some answers...
1. I would go for the sticker price as out-the door. It is not rare, and just tell him you are willing to wait for an order if that means a lower invoice. Note: it is rare because they, the dealer, have a hard time selling it. It's all a matter of who's perspective you look at it from. I walked out with a price close to your sticker price...but it had been on the lot for a few months. Another factor that matters is how badly they want to get the car off their lot.
2. Cheaper or not, I would have the dealer do it...warrantee issues and just less hassle with protential problems.
3. It simply isnt worth doing engine mods on the 3.0 so far because price is high, power gain is low, and warrantee goes byebye. Not enough research and product popularity for 3.0 engine mods yet. I might supercharge, but that'll cost 4-5k at least and wont be until after warrantee expires. Chipping and exhaust wont be very noticeable either. Our A4's have enough power, and just isnt worth the small mods, which are never easy. haha
Hope that helps.

wrong answers...
you would be wrong on the engine mods. i have a drop-in filter, and chip. the chip was definitely noticeable. the neuspeed chips is supposed to deliver about 8hp to the wheels and retails on their site for $199 which is not expensive at all! name another mod for any car the delivers 8hp for under $200! also, the rev limiter is increased, top limiter removed and throttle response is much better. and, i guarantee you neuspeed puts in some good R&D time. as for the rarity, i've had my 3.0 6-speed for 2 years now and only ever seen 1 other one come out to a gtg, so i would see they are definitely not that common.

Answer to #3.........wrong...
I have the K&N, an Upsolute chip, and Supersprint performance mufflers. A definite and noticeable difference in performance.
K&N + Upsolute = 235hp/240lbs + S/Sprint (3 to 5% gain)= 245hp/250lbs. An 11% increase for $1,300.00. A good bang for your buck in my book.
The increase in Torque and throttle response is the most noticeable when passing.
You may only have a Warranty issue if something breaks and can be directly attributed to the aftermarket item. The onus is on the manufacturer (Audi and not the Dealer) to prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem.
