Default Stitch got his first taste of the hard stuff today: 100 octane racing gas.

He got a little mellow after about 5 miles. Maybe tomorrow will open him up some more. $5.25/gallon at an Encino, Calif, Union 76 (Ventura and Zelzah) that just starting selling it. They'll have 5 gallon cans of 114 racing gas in a couple of weeks for ~$30.

Damn, just when I can't get anymore toluene in California, this place opens up. Thank you, Lord!

Default about octane...

The rating is the percentage in the gas that is Octane, the higher the number the more pressure/tempeture that is required for optium combustion. So in engines like the 3.0 (with high compression) and the 1.8T (With a Turbo) it is benificial to use the higher octane and, this equation keeps climbing up to 104-114 racing fuels for super high boost and/or compression.

He only got 6 gallons 100 + 12 gallons 91 so the final octane is 94.
