IMO, you really need to access the situation...Do what you think will get out the...
screw/bolt out, cleanly w/o the dreaded "no where to grip, no slot to turn" issue...
I've been there, done that on other screw/bolt removal jobs...
IMO, don't ruin the screw/bolt and in turn your method of removal...
My vote, if you can grip the screw/bolt firmly & have the clearance to swing/twist >>>> go vise grips...

Re: thanks....so you're saying start with a thin slot with small screw diver and then go up to a lar
yes, that is exactly the technique with the screw driver. not sure about your other suggestion though. perhaps its worth a try.
