Is there any way to put the 3.0 navagation into the 1.8t?

I think you'd need
the GPS antenna, the navigation unit in the trunk, the 11 CD's covering the US, the wiring to the inside of the car, the color display in the cluster, the pretty voice (who I've named Ashley in my baby), as well as some other components.
Probably not worth it. Check out www.avalonmotorsports.com for Nav+. I believe it's around $2,200 and I've only heard of one guy on here who actually installed it. I believe he bought it off of ebay.de (Deutschland) and had it shipped over.

I think he's talking about the regular NAV unit, not the euro spec NAV+ unit.
I don't think the cost savings is going to be that significant versus going with an aftermarket navigation system.
IMO, if the NAV system doesn't have at the very least a 3" color display, its not worth getting. The Audi NAV system that is a US spec, is dramatically less dazzling than the Acura, Lexus, or Infiniti NAV system. Where those manufacture's have introduced color displays for about $2000, Audi has put in a place the NAV system in the middle of your HD and only points arrows. (No interactive map.)

Some people have imported the euro NAV+ unit. I'm trying to do the same.
Its about a $2000 import which is right up there with factory costs (comparing to Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, etc...) And looks impressive. Its a bit harder to get the NAV+ unit (which Jimax was referring to in his post.) But you'd probably get a better deal with an aftermarket instead of factory NAV unit. Here are pics if you are curious. Shame its not a NA option.
