tire rotation...

tire rotation...
my service station interchanged the two front wheels/tires to see whether it would cure a slight pull to the right, instead of charging me for a wheel alignment. he says it is a standard practice in the industry. (standard 16", non-sport package). it didnt help, so we aligned the (4) wheels. is there any reason that he SHOULDNT have done that? i guess that i should now do the same at the rear, or else when i do a front/rear rotation, i would end up diagonally rotating the tires, which i understand is the worst no-no. any thoughts?

didnt really understand ya but..
if yours is a non-directional all season tire, then you can change the left and right tires without any problems.. why would diagonally rotated tires be a no-no?? I thought as long as you keep it consistent, it shouldnt matter... I change mine from front to back.. (frontrak)

audi service did that???
to my understanding you are only suppose to change the tires from front to back and back to front. if the car is pulling bring it to audi and have them realign. Mine was out of spec at 10k and they fixed no questions asked.
