Update on my coil experience
I talked to my Service Manager again today and told him of my concerns that I may have cooked something by continuing to drive (slowly) after the #1 coil failed, and that there was a "hot" smell seconds before the EPC light came on and the engine died. As it turns out, he told me that the bad coil they took out was melted - it literally came out in two pieces. The engine died because a fuse blew. I was afraid that the turbo overheated, just enough so it would fail in say, 49,750 miles just after the warranty expired.
But regardless, if you do experience the coil problem while on the road - you'll know it by moderate vibration under power, my advice is to get off the road as soon as safe and practical, shut down and call roadside assistence.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/144023.phtml</a

Is your car a '03 model?? Mine is also built 06/02 and was sold as a '03 car. Now...
I'm scared that I might get it too. I was under the impression that Audi has began putting in the newer coil packs in cars built after 04/02. Now I'm paranoid.
