Default Volvo S60

How do you guys feel about the exterior design of the S60? For those that have test driven it, what are your opinions of its performance, for the 2.4t and T5 models?

I've driven base and T5- T5 was a rocket, and handled surprisingly well. Looks good, IMO.

Default Good friend and his wife have a T5....

It is quick and responsive, comfortable seats... but they have had some problems with it. THey make fun of it. They have had it less than 6 mos. and have had to have it towed to the dealership b/c it wouldn't start twice....

Default Rent one for a weekend. Hertz has them. Passat a much nicer all around car.

Sssssllloooooooowwwwww steering. Twitchy super touchy brakes. Torque steer even in the base model. Moaning engine - get the turbo ! Harsh low speed ride. You get the feeling you are sitting on the car, not in it. Interior thoughtfully laid out in many ways with a few odd touches, but short on trunk space. The "big momma hips" need to be watched out for in low speed tight manouvers.

From a driver's standpoint, the Saab 9 5 is a much more satisfying car even with the torque steer.

Neither come close to the all-of-a-piece feel you get from any of the German cars.

Default I rented one in Albany, NY last month

It was okay for a rental (beats the domestic offerings of course), but really rather boring to drive. Nothing bad about it otherwise. Solid car and reasonably smooth. Can't imagine why anyone would prefer that to an Audi A4.
