Default wheel offset

What is the offset for the stock 17 inch sport wheels? With a 35 mm offset on a wheel will the rims be sticking out more or less? Thanks!

Default

It depends on the width of the wheel. Stock offset for a 7.5" wheel is 45mm.

Default stock sport wheel offset is 45mm ... (more)

This means that the vertical plane where the wheel mates with the hub is 45 mm outboard of the centerline of the wheel. A smaller offset dimension (say 40mm) will move the mounting plane of the wheel closer to the centerline, therefore the inner edge of the wheel will actually be further away from the car and hence "stick out" more (5mm to be exact). A visit to Tire Rack's wheel tech page on this subject may help:

htt p://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm
