When you chip do you lose your 4 year free maintenance

maintenance shouldn't have anything to do with chip
only warranty work, the maintenance side of the work is a obligation they would have to uphold.
they may be wary of running diagnostics on a car with a chipped ecu however so that part of the service schedule might be affected.

I haven't heard one way or the other about Audi of Alexandria....(more)
But i know a guy with a chip who goes to Audi in Rockville and apparently doesn't have any problems.
personally, i'm waiting till warranty is up to do much of anything related to performance mods

To expand on this. If you blow your engine, there may be problems, but if your stock radio stops working, they won't hassle you for having a chip. They have to prove (or imply) that what you did caused the malfunction.
