10,000 mile maint. suggestions...
I'm dropping my car off tonight for an inspection and oil change at 10,000 miles. so i was just wondering if anyone had suggestions for maintanence at 10,000 miles since nothing is specified in the owners manual until 15,000 miles.
I'm thinking: 1) inspection 2) oil change 3) new spark plugs 4) rotate tires 5) new air filter
I'm also going to ask about my brakes and see if they can quote me anything on ceramics.

10K is not part of scheduled service. Though since you're paying, I'm sure that they'll
be happy to take your money, though I don't see why you need new spark plugs or a new air filter yet.

i know id have to pay for everything (other than inspection)
but since im buying it and not leasing, id rather put a little more money here and there to take care of her.
i wasn't sure if plugs/air filter or anything else would be needed / recommended, which is why i came here looking for suggestions. so you dont think anything extra is really needed?

I would save your money
I didn't get the spark plugs/airfilter/tune-up until nearly 30,000+ miles in my old B5 (near the end of my lease...I know, I didn't drive it as often as I should've) - the service was north of $500 and was thankfully covered by scheduled maintenance.
Granted, the 1.8T is entirely different from the 2.0T, however, 10,000 miles might be too soon and will be too costly IMO.
On a side note, if you have modded your car, perhaps an oil change every 5000 miles might be worthwhile.

Re: 10,000 mile maint. suggestions...
I recently took my '06 A4 for an oil and filter change at just over 10,000 miles. My dealer suggested that I could save money on the service by bringing my own oil. I found 502 compliant Castrol 5W-40 synthetic on sale at my local Autozone for about $4.95/qt. The dealer charged me about $43.00 for the filter and labor. I also had my wiper blades replaced on Audi's nickel. You are entitled to one set in the first 12,00 miles and mine were shot after a hard winter.

Oil change + tire rotation (nothing if leasing)
You shouldn't need to change spark plugs so soon. Modern cars don't require these to be changed very often, and you'll only be wasting your money. Likewise, the air filter should not need changing at this stage, unless you happen to have exposed your car to extremely dusty conditions.
If having an oil change, make sure that the oil matches the VW 502 00 standard. Synthetic only.
