Default Advice For What 2006 A4 To Buy

I'm looking into buying a 2006 A4. Was hoping to get some good feedback on preferred engine types, auto or man trans, 2wd or Quattro and any other good feedback as what to look for or problem areas in general.

So far what I prefer is:
3.2 V6
Automatic Transmission
Quattro

Any other advice would be much appreciated.

If you can find a 6 cylinder with a manual transmission...you will be one happy customer.

Thanks for the reply. Why the manual? Any known issues w/ the automatic transmissions? I prefer auto because it will be my daily driver and rush hour traffic is no fun with a manual, but I will go that route if the manual is more dependable. Quattro is a nice option, but not a necessary.

I'm hoping to hear some more input and advice. Anyone else?

I have a manual 2.0T and a manual B6 3.0 as well. The V6 engines have lot's of low end torque so stop start driving in 1st or 2nd gear at 1000-1500 rpms hasn't been an issue for me at all. Audi without quattro isn't an Audi.

Each to their own however...

I believe the manual is way more responsive and just much more fun to drive in my opinion.

I appreciate the input. I think I've found my new old used Audi. An 06 3.2 Quattro. These aren't easy to find and especially in my price range.

I have an 06 A4 3.2 S-line manual as my daily driver. Very fun car to drive and worth it if you can find one. If you must have an auto, then just go for an A6 3.2. It has a little more space.
