Default Audi says my O ring needs replaced. Leaking antifreeze. Anyone know if this is covered?

My car has 59,000 miles on it and the warranty is covered up to 50K. Is there a tech bulletin or a recall on the O ring that anyone knows about. They want to charge me $279.

Default There have been problems with a plastic coolant flange on the back of the engine.

I had to have mine replaved at about 25,000 miles. I believe there is a TSB and a new revision available for this part. If this is the problem, and I bet it is, I would appeal for Audi to pay for the repair.

Default I called AOA and I will find out once I pick the car up to see who's paying for it.

Here's where I have the problem. It's a known issue but unless you have taken the car in lately you will never know about it. They need to get this info to the customers so that it can be fixed before their warranty runs out.

Default Yes, it was a TSB on the 1.8Ts, the rear coolant flange would fail and leak coolant. But

since he is out of warranty and it was not a mandatory recall, Audi may or may not cover it.

My dealer did mine last month on my 06 A4 as follows from the work order:
"remove coolant flange and replace O-ring A4 2.0"
"cause: perform I5 recall; I513"
"N/C"

Default Its basically a recommended service action, meaning if a car comes in with a problem

don't waste your time diagnosing the issue. There will be a time limit on it and if its out of warranty or not done in that time frame it is not covered under warranty.

Since it is not a safety issue they do not have to notify customers.
