EGR problems
As ever, whenever I buy a second hand motor it works for a short time before it needs to be repaired. I'm relatively handy, so I'm doing the work myself cos it's not too challenging.
I had codes for P2100 / 2 / 8 for Throttle body, which I changed and it removed the codes and works well.
I also had a code P0404 which relates to EGR, which I took off, cleaned thoroughly and replaced. But the code came back. There is a squeal coming from the housing of the EGR valve, sounds electrical when the ignition is in the on position, is this normal? When I turn it to the off position, it sounds like it's crunching gears, 3 times in succession before shutting off.
Should I replace the EGR valve too? Is this most likely the issue?

(before starting the engine) there is a constant squeal (loud whine) coming from the housing of the EGR valve, it sounds electrical, is this normal? When I turn it to the off position, it sounds like it's crunching gears, 3 times in succession before shutting off. While driving I have loss of power, very little acceleration but it seems to sit okay at idle. It seems to be a little intermittent, too as not all these symptoms appear all the time.
Should I replace the EGR valve too? Is this most likely the issue?
Many thanks in advance,
Adam
