First mods

First, a few VAG-COM mods:
* Open windows with remote
* Remove seatbelt alarm (I don't need reminded - I wear always)
* Set selective locking control to open all doors

Any others that I should consider?

Second, debadged and removed dealer's sticker. The dealer's license frame will go too.

Bert Wolfe's sticker was a bear to get off the TT.

It makes me sad that they apply it. Not very classy of our local dealer.

Yeah, it was tenacious, but I'm tough too!

Over the years, I've ordered two cars from the factory and in both cases requested at the time of order not to affix a dealer tag/sticker. For the first, a Ford Escort wagon, they complied (dealer in Blacksburg, VA), and the second, my big blue F-250, they didn't (Turnpike Ford) and I still haven't gotten it off! I started but it was too much of a bear.

is this your first time messing with vagcom?

i have no experience with the vagcom but really want to play with all the features ive seen on the forums.

im sure i can mess things up if i make mistakes and its expersive, should i give it further thought you think?

I don't have much experience working with VAG-COM,

but am relatively computer-savvy, so it wasn't tough to do.

rest of world lighting* and then clear corner your headlights

*not sure if that's the technical VAG code. I'm sure someone will check me on that.

ok, you say not much experience,

i consider my self somewhat computer literate also, did anyone show you haw to play with vagcom? or just order it and take your time?\

i would have no one to go to for help so thats also what worries me.

Figured it out on my own

I've had some similar experience programming radios, so it wasn't too tricky. And, I agree with artinmoTTion above, write down the current codes (although I didn't have any problems). The latest version of the software has some nice pop-up help too.
