Default Has anyone figured out how to add OEM Bluetooth without Navigation?

I've spent hours searching the Navplus.us site as well as several others who are selling the wiring harness to add bluetooth to Navigation. I have not been able to find any information on bluetooth without navigation.

I have a Nokia CK-7W kit, but I am hoping to mimic as many OEM functions as possible, rather than install it as is.

At a minimum, I would like to be able to use the buttons on the steering wheel. Audio mute, audio through the stereo speakers, and other OEM features would be a plus.

Is anyone working on this?

Is there a wiring diagram available that maps out the wires coming off the steering column?

I assume the 2006 symphony stereo had a mute connection, can anyone confirm this?

Is there a way to port the bluetooth audio through the factory stereo?

TIA

Robert

Yes, it's like all of the symphony IIs and has both mute and tel +/- inputs. They weren't marked on my HU, however.

Default Sweet! So mute and audio through the stereo speakers is easy.

Anyone know which wires to use on the symphony IIs?

Default How great would it be if we actually figure this out?!?!

I'd love to use bluetooth with my OEM stereo - I hate the handsfree bluetooth I got for my phone- Looks like I should be on Star Trek with that stupid thing on my ear!!!

Default I did a stealth install of a Motorola handsfree kit in my B5, hoping to do likewise with B7...

I don't expect to get phone number readouts on the driver information display, it would take a much more sophisticated kit to do that.

I'm annoyed that there are two 'phone' buttons on my steering wheel that don't do squat.

I'm hoping there are seperate wires connected to the steering wheel buttons that could be redirected to an aftermarkket or OEM bluetooth control without 'upsetting' the car and tripping any codes.

I love the interior of my B7 and don't want to clutter it up with additional bluetooth controls, especially some of the big, clunky ones with many buttons that I have seen.

Apparently the mute and audio through the Symphony are easy, enabling the phone buttons is my last challenge.

Default Keep me posted on your findings...

I won't even get an IPOD until they make a good integration kit. There is NO way I'm mounting anything off my console - even the ice link is ugly as sin in our interiors. I'm really kicking myself I couldn't be patient and just friggin' wait for the car I wanted with the NAV unit. Had I waited, I'd be able to listen to MP3s AND have bluetooth! ARGHHHH!!! Still LOVE the car though.

Default yes, phone mute and audio through Symphony are easy

Same basic procedure as outlined by Boston Driver's tech writeup (his was for an A6, but basically the same thing). I hard wired a Nextel handsfree kit. The junction box is mounted in the glove box, mic in the headliner and cradle just adjacent to HU. While the BT option is nice, it also has 2 major downfalls (IMO) (1) no charging of phone and (2) relies upon phone's builtin antenna

=======
Nextel Users: Don't follow the instructions for power hookups. You *will* fry the junction box. (don't ask me how I know :-*)
