Help with noise in Climate Control Console

I'm hearing a clunking noise from the climate control console periodically when it's set to auto. I guess the climate control is trying to stablize the temp and maybe that's why its' making the noise?

Is this normal?

Mine doesn't make that noise.

Are you sure that the clunking sound isn't the A/C compressor? If so, I'd want to have that looked at, as a compressor shouldn't sound like that.

Mine does that too, not all the time but often enough for me too notice

I've also got a bunch of rattles from the passenger side which I can't seem to pin-point.

I don't think it's the compressor because I'm hearing it with the ECON mode on. I think that disables the compressor. It sounds like a vent opening and closing. Hard to explain

Automatic means it has a mind of its own

Climate control will make adjustments to airflow based on where it is in the control cycle. This means it will adjust dampers to control flow from the floor, the mid-level, side vents, and top vent. You are hearing the damper servomotors.
