Default P0016 code

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and was hoping for some help. I recently purchased my first Audi, a 2008 A4 2.0T with 139,000 miles. According to a sticker under the hood the timing belt was changed at 100,000 miles. The car ran great for the first couple of thousand miles but one day on the way home from work it started idling rough. As soon as I got the RPMs above a thousand it smoothed out. I got home and checked the engine codes and found codes for random misfire and misfire codes for each of the cylinders individually. Also there was a P0016 code for the crank and cam shafts being out of time. After some doing some research I removed the camshaft timing cover and found slack in the bottom of the chain. The chain on top with the tensioner was tight. Assuming this was my problem I changed the chain, tensioner, and all related parts. While I was at it I decided to check the timing marks on the timing belt. I found that it was off about a half of tooth. I put it back in time. Also changed the timing belt, water pump, and idlers while I was at it. Put it all back together and it runs the same. I checked the compression on all cylinders and they are all very good. I took the car for a ride and it runs great except when I come to idle speed and then it runs rough. Check engine light came back on and I still have all of the same codes including the P0016. Next I changed both the crankshaft and camshaft positioning sensors and no difference. I am running out of ideas and I’m hoping someone here can give me some advice. Thanks.

Did you find fix. Do you have to synchronize both sensors with a scanner? Thank you in advance

I had the same symptoms until the day the engine wouldn't start. I gave up on it.

FS.....some simple things to check first.
+1 on the comment Portugal made...or the battery. A bad battery ? (low voltage causes all sorts of havoc with these cars.)
PCV bad and/or vacuum leaks. The valve cover has been known to crack.
Coil pack going south.
Bad spark plug or plugs.
Fouled fuel filter and/or in-tank fuel pump going bad.

Pls. let us know what you find ultimately and best of luck, Haya....
