Picking up A4Q 2.0T MT S-Line Tuesday
Picking my car up Tuesday after much deliberation between an '06 330i. After finding out about the APR ECU upgrade the choice was made easier and I live less than 2 hrs from their corporate office in Auburn (I'm an Auburn Unversity grad and used to always see the APR guys' highly tuned cars around town while I was there for my 6 year udergrad degree). What else would you guys recommend for extracting more hp from the car? I haven't found a whole lot really, except for a cold air intake and an exhuast system, which I'm skeptical about b/c of the sound. Any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated. I'm very new to these turbo cars...lots to learn after being a BMW lifer.

first off Congrats
As for more power, the simple mods like ECU tuning, Exhaust and Intake will provide some very impressive numbers man, and personally i dont think it will leave you wanting much more!!!!
if wanna wait i think APR is talking about a turbo system (that would replace the stock turbo for something a little bigger).
dont forget that as u make more upgrades like the intake and exhaust APR offers a set of programming that takes advantage of this.
ALSO GO REVO!!!!!! i love my revo programming but to each their own. ENJOY THE NEW CAR!

Re: Get a Milltek exhaust. It seems to be the quietest of all.
Thank you for the suggestion. Do you know of any place I can download a video/sound clip of the exhaust system? I found one on here with the AWE exhaust...sounded pretty nice, a little raspy which I guess is to be expected w/ the little, but wicked, four banger. The Milltek looks very nice though, I checked out their website and they seem to really stand behind their product. There are just so many to choose from and I really have no idea which is THE best.
Thanks again,
RJ

Yeah man, I am hearing that APR and REVO are the two to consider. I don't know which to go with really. APR is very convenient, but hey, I want power with reliability. So, if REVO surpases APR in both power and reliability, then of course I would go with REVO. Does anyone have any real numbers to look at comparing these two?
Thanks for the suggestion,
RJ

Not sure where to get the audio clips, but I have yet to read a single post...
stating that Milltek's sound was not liked.
It all depends on what you're after. If you want the most power gain, the exhaust will be louder. In the B6 world that would be Thermal Race. Very nice gains, but impossible to live with for many. Bhvrdr was running a Thermal on his B6 btw.

Oh yeah, is there a break-in period for the car? I mean, if I drive it like an M3 break-in, which is pretty particular, it should be fine right (never owned an M3, but lucky friends have)? Also, is it bad to do the ECU upgrade the day I pick up the car, as planned?
Thanks again for all the advice, it's a tremendous help.
