I was pretty regimented with how I broke in my car, and before today I hadn't check my oil since about the 3k mark. I'm at 4500 now. When I checked today it was still pretty much where it was when it was delivered, which is very pleasing. I thought maybe there might have been more consumption than that, especially during break-in, but nope. I used the same method on my 1.8t B5 and maybe only once did I need to add any oil in the 113k miles I owned it.

Just wondering if this was in line with what everyone else has seen.

But I get my oil changed every 5k.

Even so, I've never had to add any....ever.

Haven't added a drop in 3k miles. I expected to add a little during break-in but have not.

With only the scheduled maintenance at 5k, 15k, I am at 23,400 and just checked my oil level and it's still reading full on the dipstick. But from 25k onward, I'm going to switch to doing an oil change every 5k because I'm paranoid.
