After reading up on this a bit more, mgm appears to be right: MMI 3 adds nothing to a non-Nav 2010 B8. So it's between a nav-equipped 2010 or a non-Nav '09 with the auto-dimming mirrors, the 6 CD changer, and the memory seats. I'm sure nav is really cool, but I wonder whether it is worth the money (for me).

After corresponding with several dealers within 100 miles or so I've got an offer on a 2009 Avant Premium Plus for $36k (roughly $2k below invoice). The color/trim combo I want is not the most common, which means they had to go find it. For a 2010 I'd have to do an order (and good discounts on these don't seem to be forthcoming). So this seems like a good deal to me; another dealer wouldn't even come within $1500 of it. Considering what has already been said in this thread, I can't see any reason not to jump on this. Funny, it's from the same place I ended up buying my 2001 from eight years ago.
