A4 b8 retrofit servotronic coding

Seems address 44 is for the J500 power steering control module for the electric racks in later years. So we won't have that address.
So the only relevant coding seems to be byte 7 in the J519 (address 09), which for me is 0x01. My byte 8 is 0x00.
The long coding helper in VCDS only referenced bits 4 and 5 in byte 7. 4 is dynamic steering (aka active steering, ie, the variable steering ratio mechanisms; not related to servotronic) and 5 is drive select. No info what bit 0 is and why it's a 1 (some references speculate that enables servotronic management), or what bits 1/2/3 are and why they are a 0.
I'm not aware of any existing reference for the coding of the modules other than what's been variously hacked out and guessed at around the Internet.
There were no steering related adaptations either; wondered if maybe you just needed to adapt the new rack.

So you have servotronic as well? Then maybe can you tell me some codings what you have in long coding in adress 9? Also you have MMI and you can adjust driver select? Because I have mmi basic plus and I can’t see driver select so maybe the problem can be that I need to change to comfort or individual in driver select mode?

I do not have drive select from the factory, and I have not bothered with the coding hack to enable MMI managed drive select as documented on the projectADS web pages.
My car came factory with Servotronic (PR code 1N3), and the byte values I already posted were the factory set coding values at those bytes in address 09.

Ok thanks! I will try to code tomorrow. If it will not help than maybe we connected to wrong connector or we missed wires. If what I will write you for some question.

Thas is what SMac said: VCDS has no translation for the other bits. But you can see and change any bit. Is your bit 0 also set = 1 (i.e. Byte 7 = '00000001')?
My B8 had Dynamic Steering and ADS. I still have the logs and module 09 byte 7 = 31 hex (Bit 5,4 and 0 are set ).
(I don't know the details about this but I can see in the 17pin connector called "Connector D" for J519 that pin 1 and 12 are for
Pin 1: Servotronic solenoid valve -N119 (activation) and Pin 12: Servotronic solenoid valve -N119 (earth), so I guess you know how to identify Connector D.)

I connected everything ok I think to purple connector to pin 1 and 12. What I see now that my steering wheel in beggining when I start the car it is very easy but after 1 sec steering wheel again heavy. In 09 central electric in long coding and byte 7 I see only byt 4 and 5 , no more byt.

Hello, I am trying to do the opposite, add non servotronic steering rack to 2011 S4. My main concern is the PS pump if it will be compatable. What was your steering like before and after you switched racks
Thanks
